Debra Murphy has held several leadership positions in the natural health industry for ten plus years. She is a staunch advocate for social justice issues, moral purchasing and ethical sourcing. Debra is the founder & co-owner of bumble bloom a plant based food company founded on the principles of ethical eating and sustainability. She resides in Vancouver with her partner James and their two rescue dogs Arturo and Ella.

Mitchell Scott, The Very Good Butchers

Mitchell Scott is a bean butcher and co-founder of The Very Good Butchers; the first vegan butcher shop on the west coast of Canada. Prior to that he was involved in a number of companies and start ups in operations, biz dev, and marketing roles.

Aside from veganism, he has a passion for digital marketing, crowdfunding, and world changing ideas.  Victoria’s vegan ‘Very Good Butchers’ set to feature in CBC’s Dragons’ Den.  

The business started on Denman Island, and after great success locally, they moved down to Victoria and opened their first shop in 2017.

“There are huge amounts of benefits [of veganism] from health to environmental to ethical… our approach is to provide options and show that veganism is approachable and delicious,” says Scott.

Tyson Still, Winecrush

Tyson Still is one of the co-founders of Winecrush, an innovative Gourmet food company from Penticton, BC. Tyson has a knack for cooking; starting out of his home kitchen, and then while working in the North in the oil industry his passion for cooking and hosting dinner parties at home drove him to turn to the next chapter in life.  

He quit his northern oil job and started his cooking career at Nk'Mip cellars under Chef Kevin Cooper. His talent in the kitchen didn’t go unnoticed with Chef Cooper; he promoted Tyson to become his sous chef.

After his stint at Nk'Mip Cellars, Tyson and his partner Bill Broddy started Winecrush.

Pamela Ambriz, Vitalus Nutrition Inc

 

 

 

 

Pamela Ambriz is a Food Industry professional with 22 years of experience in different functional areas. She has international and domestic experience in operations, supply chain, technical sales, R&D, product development and innovation. Pamela currently is the Director of Product Strategy and Development at Vitalus Nutrition Inc. Her main role is to provide leadership to the organization by filling the innovation pipeline for medium and long term initiatives.

As Director of Product Strategy and Development, Pamela is responsible for the innovation pipeline and she oversees all aspects of the company’s new product development process and product improvement initiatives. She manages the Innovation Development Center and maintains technical and scientific relationships with Universities and Food Technology Centers.

In her current role, Pamela has lead the team in the development and commercialization of VITAGOS ™ a dairy based prebiotic fiber and in conjunction with Business Development she is working on creating business partnerships with in the nutrition, health and wellness segments of the market both for human and animal feed products.

Pamela holds a B. Sc in Biochemistry Engineering with a minor in Food Science. She also has an Executive General Management Certificate from Sauder School of Business and has a Certificate in Values Based Leadership from Royal Roads University.

Pamela is involved with the Community Innovation Partnership group in Abbotsford and it is also a mentor for Futurpreneur Canada.

Paul has over 20 years of senior-level managerial experience with food manufacturing companies and extensive experience in food product, R&D, ingredient technology, QA, business and partnership development. Paul is specialized in development of vegetarian meat analogue products and vegetarian cheese products. His expertise in providing direction for R&D team has led various companies to continuous growth and successes. Paul joined Daiya in the year of 2008 and ever since then, he has contributed in many ways to developing and expanding its dairy-free, soy-free and gluten-free product line.
